TOFINO, B.C. – The District of Tofino is asking residents and visitors to please proactively conserve water use at this time. The District water system is currently operating at 50% capacity and will be operating at this reduced capacity over the holiday period. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
Due to a large volume of downed trees, the Tonquin Trail and Connector will be closed to public access. It is estimated that tree removal will continue into January, and certain beach and trail accesses will be closed to the public until crews are able to safely remove the debris.
Be CoastSmart - Please respect any temporary closures and follow directions on any associated postings.
The District of Tofino would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Public Works Department and BC Hydro crews for all their hard work and dedication during this storm, as well as to residents and visitors for their patience and compassion. We can’t thank you enough!
For those homes that are still without power, the best source of up to date information is through BC Hydro.
