Delegations - Appearing Before Council
NOTE: All delegations are now via Zoom only. If your delegation request is accepted, details of how to register for the Zoom meeting will be sent to you. Presenters will be asked to control their own presentations and share their screens with Council.
Delegates are individuals or group representatives that are formally included on a Regular Council or Committee of the Whole meeting agenda typically to:
- provide information and opinion on an agenda item or other matter being considered by Council
- initiate discussion on a matter of broad community interest that falls within municipal jurisdiction
- bring Council up to date on a project, idea or concept
Deadlines: Delegation requests and all correspondence must be submitted by noon, the Wednesday before the meeting date.
Number of Delegations: Only two delegations will be heard per meeting, with a maximum speaking time of 10 minutes each. Delegations are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. If the spots are full, we will try our best to accomodate you on the next available agenda.
Other ways to Address Council: If you are coming to speak about an item that is listed on the agenda, you may address Council for up to 2 minutes during the Public Input Section of the agenda. You do not have to apply before-hand, only you must sign in at the meeting using the Q&A function of Zoom (learn more).
