The District of Tofino is seeking a qualified individual to fill a temporary full-time position as the Manager of Financial Services.
This temporary full-time position is being posted as a result of a maternity leave. The temporary position is being posted for a term of fourteen (14) months, with the possibility of extension for up to a further six (6) months. The start date of this position is October 1, 2021.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, the Manager of Financial Services is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of financial services including budget and audit preparation and grant administration. In addition, this position assists with financial reporting, provides leadership to department staff and supervises the day to day operations of the department.
- Degree in Business Administration or Commerce
- Financial Management or Accounting Diploma or completion of all Chartered Professional Accountant’s course prerequisites
- Minimum of three years of progressively complex accounting experience
- Proven supervisory experience and expertise
- Experience in the public sector is an asset

This is an exempt position to cover a temporary leave, with the possibility of extension, and is based on a 37.5 hour work week. This position offers a full range of competitive benefits, including a pension plan.
