District of Tofino Welcomes New Manager of Infrastructure and Public Works
Fraser Work Joins the District of Tofino from City of Victoria

TOFINO B.C. – Fraser Work will be stepping into the role of Director of Infrastructure and Public Works with the District of Tofino, bringing his experience in project management, engineering and sustainability to the job.

Mr. Work has been the Director of Engineering & Public Works for the City of Victoria since 2015.  While in this role, he led a department of over 300 staff in the management, operations and maintenance of City infrastructure, engineering, utilities, transportation, waste management and other programs including Climate Change and Sustainability. As a former naval Engineering Commander, with over 20 years of military experience, Mr. Work also spent time as a warship engineer, project manager and staff officer.

Mr. Work holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University, a Master of Science in Marine Engineering from University College London, and a Bachelor’s of Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada.

"The District is very excited to welcome Mr. Work to the team. There are a number of pressing projects on the go in Tofino, such as waste water treatment, and Fraser’s strong and diverse skillset will further assist the District in achieving our asset management and infrastructure goals."
